A short side story about Dino and Iratella after he proposed to her.

It was like any other Sunday morning. Dino woke up at 7am, as shown on the wall clock in the Victorian-era inspired room. He lied on his back and stared at the ceiling. The room was silent, and only the sound of his breathing can be heard. His eyes were still heavy, but he just couldn't go back to sleep. Something is just making him too excited to go back to sleep.
As he continued to stare at the ceiling, he heard the rustling sound of the comforter and someone moving about on his bed. He turned to look at his princess, Iratella, fast asleep facing his side. She cuddled comfortably into his arms and continued to sleep soundly like a baby. The dim sunlight that shone through the sheer curtains illuminates her radiant beauty perfectly, as if there was light glowing around her.
No matter from which angle, she was always very beautiful to him. Like an angel, he would always say. Sometimes he thought to himself that it was such a pity that beneath that rare Italian beauty lies a blood-tainted soul tied to fate, destined to be a killer and next in line to the throne of the majestic mafia family, the name that all strong rival forces wish to own but fear to catch.
He gently carressed her face. He couldn't move his sight away from her. She was just too irresistable. He moved on to touch her hazel brown hair and lightly sweep some strands of hair that hung over her face. He kept smiling as he admired her. The strap of her cream-white nightgown hung losely over her shoulders. He slowly pulled up the strap of her nightgown so that not much of her cleavage was revealed. Sofly and gently to not wake her from her slumber, he kissed her forehead and tugged her into his arms. Her body against his makes him feel much warmer as he slept shirtless throughout the night. Her head lie pefectly under his neck, giving him access to her signature floral hair scent that made him feel so relaxed. A few seconds later, he felt her hand hung over his back and herself cuddling tigher to him. He simply pulled the comforter a little higher to cover them both.
At this point, he had no intentions of letting her go. He just wished that he could stay in this position forever, never letting his loved one go.
Last night had been the most memorable night for the both of them. No, it's wasn't physically, but emotionally. Dino respects her a lot and he didn't want to hurt her in THAT way, the reason why their relationship lasted for so long.
After waiting for so long, Dino had finally given his vow to stay with her forever and protect her heart with his life. The proposal was short and simple, but it was beautiful and memorable. With no hesitation, Iratella answered "yes". She knew how much they love each other, and to answer this type of question is never easy, but not in her case. The trust that they have in each other was so strong that possibly nothing could ever make them go against each other.
How they ended up in bed was nothing out of the what-was-supposed-to-happen policy. Iratella simply just asked him to accompany her to bed that night and that was all. Nothing more, nothing less. He never even thought of making any off-the-limits move, proving just how much he protects her.
As they stayed in that comfortable position, Dino flashed back on how they first met, at the riverside in Namimori, during the spring school holidays. Iratella sang a song that attracted his heart and since then, they became close friends. He worked on a song with her, "Together We Are One" for her Sony Japan Star Talent Search singing competition as a farewell present for her as he was going back to Italy on the same day of her competition. On the day of the competition, Iratella was kidnapped by a rival mafia family. Dino was willing to sacrifice his flight to save her. It was at that time when he saw her silverish-grey eyes that he knew she was the girl he had remembered during his young teen years. The song that they wrote together caught the heart of the judge and crowned her as the winner. Nothing was much sweeter than that.
He still remembered the words that he whispered to her before he left.
"Hai fatto un lavoro davvero eccelente stasera. Spero di rivederti presto, principessa mafia."
A few months after that, he finally told her....
"Ti voglio bene."
Over the years, their relationship grew stronger that no one could ever break them apart. They supported each other through thick and thin and they knew what was going on in each others' mind. They were like true lovers. They became a model couple for the rest of their friends, holding onto each other's trust for eternity. Now that they are bonded through engagement, they are looking forward to a better life after this.
He gave a relieved sigh and smiled. So much had happened since then. Everything that happened leads up to what's coming up next. It was scheduled that the Catena family Inheritance Battle was upcoming soon. 20 years was almost up and it's about time that the battle for the next Catena Sky Boss was held. Everyone was getting serious about it because choosing the wrong Catena Sky Boss would lead to half the downfall of the Vongola family, and to whomever was chosen as the boss, they carry a heavy responsibility.
But he has faith in her that she will be chosen as the next Sky Boss. She had the leadership quality, a flame pressure power stronger than everyone else in her family and an ability to foresee the future that can help to prevent the happening of bad things. He accidentally overheard the conversation between Iratella, Hibari, Tsuna and Shoichi on the ways to prevent Byakuran from overtaking the last undestroyed parallel world, and what she has to do was not easy. Her role in the plan literally involved giving up her own life, but she didn't mind. She was still willing to exchange her life for the sake of the only surviving parallel world from Byakuran's hands in hoping that the future can be changed once and for all. She had been holding onto that policy since they started the mission in tracking down the activities of Millefiore.
It is a matter of life and death, but he knew that she will be fine, although deep down inside he hoped that she would have leave the mission and focus on what she was supposed to be doing.
His smile suddenly changed into a frown. There was so many dilemma going on. To choose the best choice was not easy for this case. A life and death matter always ends up ugly, and he doesn't want Iratella to throw away her life just like that. But he knows, that's the reality of becoming a mafia. A mafia is destined to take up assasinating as their their lifetime career.
But somewhere in the vast, cruel mafia universe, Tsuna was shining of a different light over the mafia empire, and he hopes that with his guidance, the mafia empire would have a change of fate to ensure that the young mafia leaders and the future generations can live two lives for the best and not the worse.
"It's coming really soon....in barely a year...we will all be facing against Byakuran in that war....the war which the result she has not seen..." Dino thought to himself. "But I know...Tsuna can do it....he will definitely kill Byakuran and restore this parallel world and all the other parallel worlds to normal..."
"D-Dino.....? Are you awake already...?" Iratella said softly as she rubbed her eyes. In his cradle, she stretched a little and gave a smile to him. "Buongiorno~"
"Buongiorno, principessa." and he gave another kiss on her forehead. He felt her hands trailing up his bare chest and combing through his messy blonde hair.
"Thank you for accompanying me the whole night...I felt really secure~can we stay in a little longer...? It's a Sunday anyway..." she said lazily. Her voice sounded cute, and it made him blushed a little.
"Okay then. But remember that we have to go to church today, okay? Or your parents will strangle the both of us." he said with his playful smile.
"Thanks~~" Iratella then cuddled closer to him. Her breath against his chest was warm and nice, making him very comfortable. Her engagement ring sparkled under the dim sunlight.
And there they stayed til the sun rise up higher before they got off bed to get ready to go to church~

Later that afternoon, the Vongolas, Varias and Vastellas gathered at the Catena manor for a lunch meeting. And all of a sudden....................
"Oh. Mai. GAWD!!!!!!!!! He finally proposed to you!!!!!!!!!" Hanatsu squealed and gripped Iratella's hand closer to her to get a clearer view of the proposal ring.
"Shhhh!!!! Do you really have to scream out THAT loud?" Iratella hushed to keep her Sky Boss's voice down.
"Oh, gomen ne~ it's just ....I'm SOO excited for you~" she hugged her beloved lightning guardian.
"Aww....thanx~okay...you can let me go now....Hana...Hana~~ let me go now~~ *cough cough* hey~! I'm suffocating!!!" Iratella struggled to let herself go.
"Okayyy, that's enough, Hana. Sorry for the inconvinience caused by Hana..." Kiku tried to pull Hanatsu away from Iratella.
"Umm...it's okay~~no harm done~~*coughs* as they say, old habits die hard...." a drop of cold sweat ran down Iratella's head.
"Congratulations, Iratella-san. He's finally gonna be with you for life." Tsuna smiled kindly.
"Thank you, Tsuna~" she gave a hug to him. Tsuna was the best person to consult at this type of situation when everyone would be hyped and he would be the only one cool and calm and giving her support.
"Congratulations, Iratella." Chrome smiled to Iratella and gave a slight bow to her with her head.
"Thank you, Chrome." Iratella was full of smiles. She gave a smile back to Chrome.
"He's finally gonna be serious with you. That bucking bronco finally decided that he wants to settle down with you. Make sure he doesn't hurt you, or I shall bite him to death." Hibari's eyes look serious, but there was a sense of kindness in his tone.
"Thank you, Hibari. You have been a great company for me all these while. Umm.....can you be my best man for my wedding?" Iratella asked ever so calmly.
"EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Are you sure it's a good idea to ask that?? No, more accurately, do you think he'll say yes??" Hanatsu and Tsuna freaked out.
"Shh~!!!!! I wanna hear his answer~" Ayame closed Tsuna's mouth with her hand.
"Sure, why not." Hibari answered slumberly, and the answer left everyone, especially Tsuna, mortified.
"Thanks a lot~" Iratella smiled back at Hibari.
"So, when's the wedding gonna be?" Yamamoto elbowed Dino with this ever-cheerful tone.
"Hahahahhh~ not in these few weeks time, that's for sure~" Dino placed his hand on his head.
"Congratulations, Iratella-dono" Basil bowed down to Iratella.
"Thank you, Basil." Iratella smiled back.
"YOU MUST PROTECT AND LOVE HER TO THE EXTREME!!!!!!!!!!" Ryohei screamed as he held his fists high up.
"O-Okay....." and a drop of cold sweat ran down Dino's head.
"VOIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'd better take care of her properly or you're dinner for my shark, you bucking bronco!!!!!!!!" Squalo pointed his sword at Dino.
"O-okayyy!!!!!" Dino panicked and tried to push the sword away from his face.
"Pfft....sit down, you scum. It's Dino who's getting married, not you." Xanxus pissed off.
"Ushishishi~ finally you're getting our mafia princess...when is the bachelor's party?" Belphagor asked.
"Heck!! That's like, a long time from now!!!!!" Iratella knockd Belphagor's head.
"Wow, a blow on Bel-senpai's head...that's rare to see~" Fran grabbed a prawn and continued to eat. "Oh, by the way, congratulations, Iratella-senpai."
"Thank you, Fran" Iratella smiled at him. Sometimes she's just curious about Fran. His behaviour stands out among the Varia clan, except Xanxus who stood out pretty well among all of them for his short-temperedness.
"Oh, IRA-CHAN!!!!! You're finally going to get married after being with him for almost 5 years!!!!! I must help out with your wedding!!!!!" Lussuria exclaimed.
"Uhh...I don't think it's necessary....I can handle it...." Iratella was filled with goosebumps all over her body.
"Finally, eh? That's a pretty long wait if you ask me." Kaede joked.
"Uhh....well....I HAD to find the right time~ " a bigger drop of cold sweat ran down his head.
"Don't ask that question, Kaede. When will HAYATO propose to you?" Bianchi smirked.
"A-aniki!!!!!!" Gokudera blushed and dropped his spoon and fork.
"Uhh............................" Kaede became speechless and just stared back at Bianchi.
"And my parents are hoping for a grandchild soon~" Iratella joked.
"Hey!!! Okay, that was true, but I didn't say SOON~" Arianna joined in. Edwarde came into the room together with her.
"Oh, wait...I think that was my line~" Edwarde hung his hand over Arianna's shoulders.
Reborn jumped on the table and walked towards Iratella. "Congratulations, Iratella. My best student is finally getting married to my other, more useless ex-student."
"Uhh....thanks, Reborn. Thanks for training me all this while. And....I don't think calling him useless is appropriate for this situation...." Iratella said calmly. She didn't want Dino to be hurt.
"I-I'm okay.....no harm done emotionally by Reborn...." Dino smiled sarcastically.
"It's going to be the wedding of the century~" Katty and Katherine said in monotone.
"Heck, why are you guys so eager for our wedding to come by fast?" Iratella joked.
"Coz both of you are like, the hottest couple around~ :D" Hanatsu said proudly.
"Oh greattt~~~" Iratella sighed heavily. Beneath the table, she felt her hands being gripped by someone. When she took up her hand to see who it was, she saw Dino smiling at her, and she read what was in his mind. "Don't worry. It's gonna be alright." With that, she gave a smile back to him and held onto his hand as well.
"Okay, peeps, jokes are over. Time to get serious now. We have a much more important issue to discuss now which was why we are all here today in the first place before Hanatsu got all hyped." Tsuna ordered.
"Okay, now, put my wedding issue one side for now and let's get down to business. We can discuss about my wedding again after this." Iratella calmed everybody down.
"So, we shall call this meeting to an order. First up, the Millefiore base in........."
The discussion continued and everyone stayed serious, but it had been a fun day for everyone now that they know the Catena family's daughter is going to get married as soon as the whole war against Byakuran is over. Until then, they would have to continue to trust in each other as how they do now...
